Going to stop using photobucket since it seems to want to smash my jpegs with silly amounts of contrast?! moving to image shack! anyone know if this is an avoidable setting within photobucket?

anyway, took a pic of the factory wire loom tape that I'll use to wrap the loom once I know that the engine is wired right and running. For interest sake, the part number is 000 979 950 and is called "Klebeband".

I layed my EVIL dusting primer layer. Evil because if you've done body work before, this will expose how well you really did with your sandind/bogging prep. I started this with the intention of not getting too involved with the shave and smooth but once this was laid down, i've done more than I initially wanted to, haha.

Then after the unexpected further sanding and wire brushing, the first heavy coat. it's aight, it's no mental euro bay because I dont want to fill the bay with obscene amounts of bog, should look clean once it's all painted up

whilst I was removing the condenser from the front end, I thought to myself, I can't leave all this like this after doing what i'm doing to the rest of the bay.... so i've pulled it all apart, including the fans and painting it all too...

Tomorrow i'll sand back the primer in the bay, maybe lay one more coat down depending on how it looks and then lay some paint! Pretty keen to get some colour onto it

pinging to get this done next week ...... haha, hope the engine fires.....

no pics since woody says no, haha, but the paint is just about laid in the bay. Had a late change in direction with the scheme so it's taken a little longer than expected....

Hopefully thursday i'll try firing it up...

In the meantime, I threw it up on facebook but anyone in here driven their mk3 without power steering?? either by looping the lines or swapping in the mk2 stuff? Hayden chimed in on fb and has advised me not to but i'm keen to hear a few more opinions since the boys on the tex seem to talk it down like it aint no worries....

picked up the new wheels today! So I may be returning to 16's and small rubber.... just another thing to do now since they need a minor refurb and re-drill.... Not over my current setup yet though so not sure what i'll run, see how the new ones sit and go from there
