    fuel pump removal

    g'day -
    how does one remove the fuel pump on a mk3?

    i have read that it is a bayonet fitting - push down and turn anti-clockwise

    but although i can turn it a couple of degrees, there's no way i can push it down nor turn it any further...

    am i missing a trick?

    I don't think you're missing anything. You need to go a bit harder at it. Make sure you push down firmly.
