I opened my taillights up and found out there was no bulb for the foglight in either drivers side or passenger side. Just to confirm, is the foglight bulb just the same as the brake light bulb, so I can buy the right one?

Apologies for bumping an old post up but I was replacing a tail light bulb abou a month ago and I noticed something, might be hard to explain. Ok. When you pull out the tail light section from the car to put the globes in/out right, well when you go to put it all back after replacing your globe, you need to match up the little holes with the globes so they sit behind the coloured glass/ plastic. well mine has a space for a globe to plug in, but no hole for it to sit behind glass.. its like a spare globe socket or something? i that my fog lights space or what? And what are the light thingys at the front of the car under the headlights? the little square ones? are they fog lights too? I was playing with my switch and nothing happens..at all... should i be worried?

its not a spare globe socket, its the spot for the rear fog light. aussie cars only come with one rear foglight, and that spot there is for the other one.
you can easily drill out a hole through the plastic and fit another fog light in there to even things up. theyre the same as the rear brake lights bulbs also

those are the dummy fogs. nothing there but pieces of plastic to cover up where the actual foglights would go had you purchased them as an option from vw.

    FYI,

You can get RHD version of the Headlight switch that has bother front and rear foglight action from

    http://www.tmtuning.com/

    http://www.tmtuning.com/HOME/catalog...t_product=1185

They show only LHD but email them about RHD... That is where I got mine from.

    Hi guys,
When the headlights are set to 'auto' setting, why do the front fog lights not come on... i have found the only way to set the front fog lights to come on with the headlights is to take it off auto and set it to the front lights, then pull out the switch and change it to fog lights.
