Lucky escape for your car Louis, it had all the auction stickers on the window, it was pulled out of the sale yard.

I cant believe they were gonna write it off, I separated the burnt wires and turned the key and it started!

Plenty of burnt wires, I wonder if this is caused by your broken wiper Louis? It has an electrical meltdown in the auxillary loom in front of the driver above the brake booster!

Bit of auto electrical love and she should be right mate.
Those incompetant NRMA inspecters should be shot!!
auction stickers ????? b#$%ards ! Luck I pulled away all my valuable bits..

I am so glad it's in safe hands now. I saw those people moving other cars using a fork lift, so painfull to watch. !!!

The bloody fire extinguiser powder is evil man.

Heaps of burnt wires mate, it must be wiper related, the motor has been pulling loadsa amps and melted stuff I reckon.

lol... I striped off everything that is detachable, grille, lip, stearo, sub, amp, I was even thinking of taking the glove box... after those buggers caredless about my tow covers, I was taking no chances....

Speaking of which., could you unhook the amp wiring from the battery before that causes any short.

if you can pour a bucket of water ova the extingishing power, those stuff are toxic, I had my times with them.

I reckon you shoulda taken the insurance money mate and bought the salvage back.

The job is progressing with the help of mastertech beau.

So far as we can tell the aftermarket alarm overloaded the loom and melted it all the way along under the dash and welded the connector into the fusebox.

We are changing the fusebox and entire loom. Phew

So far dash is out, most of the engine bay is pulled apart and there are wires everywhere.

We are using a post 1995 loom, with a factory immobilizer, so no-one can steal the car and it wont meltdown again. That does however mean even more swopping of wires and changing the ignition key.

We were there till midnight yesterday and are still going. It`ll work eventually, but just be warned about the evils of splicing things into your car looms people.

I`m also gonna tidy your amp wiring and reroute the carbon canister hose Louis.

Should be done early next week.

So you had to pull the dash out in the end. Bad luck on that one

On the upside, moving the carbon canister means a cold air intake is piss easy to put in! Yay for CAI!
