    Thanks so much Matty, that puts me at ease a bit more, and thanks to everyone on the forum for all the tips. Because of that the VR6 is running much better and now im not scared to open it up!

    Finally got myself a VR6 (but not accelerating right)

    Hey all, noticed that I have hesitation when accelerating hard. If I give it the beans it's like she won't go, but if I pull it back, only push down half way or gradually increase the acceleration then she goes.

    I've been doing reading on here and the net and found that I can check relays(167), fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and fuel pump. I'm going to be getting stuck into this tomorrow, but I was hoping someone could tell me more about the fuel pressure regulator testing?

    From what I read I have to unplug the vacuum side piping and see if there is any fuel in that side. What I need to know is there any pre work that I need to do? Does the car need to be running do I have to remove the number 28 fuse?

    Could be all of the above stated mate.
    Give it a full service first (oil, plugs, leads, filters.) Also check the MAF and 02 sensors (VCDS program test or VW workshop). Another thing could be the coil pack (recommend you replace with MSD ignition).
    I have also found that giving the fuel pump electrics a decent clean also help.

    Finally got myself a VR6 (but not accelerating right)

    A quick update and some pics,

    Thanks allot for all the input guys, greatly appreciated. I started with cleaning the intake boot and the MAF and it has helped.



    You can see all the oil in it from the PCV system, I think.

    I also bought a new set of leads and plugs, as I still have the factory leads and I wouldn't be surprised if the macky who worked on my car didn't change the plugs.


    I'm gonna be changing them all this weekend (don't have all my tools on me, at the parentals place).

    I also got a set of Coilovers thanks to Robin, and I am looking forward to fitting it this weekend.



    I wanted to ask has anyone got any pointers for me? Is the installation a straight forward swap? Or is there other parts I should purchase or consider changing?

    My fuel pump relay is also running hot like don't touch or it will take the skin off your fingers, that can't be right? My ECU relay is also heating up not as hot but up there. Is this normal?

    Finally got myself a VR6 (but not accelerating right)

    Ok I'm busy installing a set of hottunings coilovers and I found that my drivers side alignment bolts(I think that's what you call it), are stripped. Does anyone have a set of these bolts, kinda urgently need them. Thanks

    Ohh and I tried supercheapauto, repco, Volkswagen is closed a suspension shop and even bunnings, but nothing!

    What about a bolt speciality shop?

    If not. Just buy some camber bolts off eBay.

    Thanks for the info Hayden, tried the local one but they closed and with the public holiday tomorrow here in VIC I doubt the others will be open, and this being my daily I need to get it up and running

    Finally got myself a VR6 (but not accelerating right)

    I bought camber bolts, got them installed but I'm worried about the top strut bolts. They are not all the way through, but that's as much as I can screw them in. You guys have any ideas?
