A few updates (Altitude drop)

Ahhh finally done a few things to my Mk3 which I have been wanting to do for a while.

Few people I need to thank:
- Sean (golf3) for Sachs set-up
- Pete (Peter Jones) for strut tops
- Stu (The Stu) For Koni Shocks
- Dad observed me fit my suspension and double check

Suspension:

The main one being some drop, its nothing crazy but its better than stock and importantly corber speed in Turn 1 at Phillip Island at around 140 - 150km/h

I have already got stuck when we went moutnain biking during the week so I look forward to get beached again a few more times. (I should probably stop driving up Fire Acess Roads)

Now for the set up:

Front: Koni Shocks with bump and rebound adjustment short stroked 20mm with Sachs Springs



Rear: Koni Rears short stroked 20mm with Sachs Springs.



The improvement on the track is awsome car feels very nutral with good corner speed and now I dont feel like im going to do a front flip with the rear coming up so high under hard braking espically into Turn 4 at the Island and into Dandenong Road at Sandown.

For a beginer like myself the suspension set-up is very good as I can lift off in corners and the bum doesnt come too qucik. No more body roll is wicked

Really I would like to get the front 10mm lower

Engine Side:

After Phillip Island last week I think iv given the engine a little trashing regarding my valve train. When I start the engine up in the morning I get a plume of black smoke out the exhuast for a second. Dad think its worn valve stem seals and oil leaks into the exhuast over night

So there is few options: 1) Reco head with port and polish 2) Option one with the introduction of cam and adjustable cam wheel with some other goodies 3) Source a 2litre cross flow out of a Mk4 SE and run ITB's etc 4) Dad also like the idea of motorcycle carbs on my current engine with head work.

I spose I should hurry and get my licence...

I reckon you could use the head off a 1.6 Mk4 crossflow. I`d love to see someone do that. I have a couple of heads if you wanted to go that route

Looking pretty good there. Loving the steelies there. They look awesome. Much better now without the 4WD suspension setup.

I swear my car looks no where near that high on stock... possibly a sign that i need to get it replaced if it is sagging that much - lol.

If u only want to go 10mm lower ireckon if u could find an eiback pro spring kit would do the trick. Rated at 30mm all round
