i think cars like the last pic there are pushing it too far and it looks silly. A little bit of stretch and a little bit of poke is all good. hmm that sounds kinda porny.
but yeah.. keep it tasteful and its awesome looking.
What do you guys think of the staggered look on a lot of the Euro Mk3's.
Basically they stretch tiny tires on 9x16 inch wheels and use spacers to get them sticking out of the guards.
Personall I think they look great, however I dont think it's legal here as the tire isn't allowed to come outside the bodywork. Also the wheel arches need to be pulled out to get the car low.
Here are a few pics. What do you guys think?
Also note the smoothed bumpers.......

Yeh last one is definately too much, just put it there for demonstrations sake
I think the first pic is one of the best Mk3's I've seen however.
Also..thoughts on legality, did I sum it up?

I think it looks awesome i'd happily chop up the arches on my car to fit deep wheels in the back!
so long as the outer edge of the rim is in line with the body work its all legal, so long as the rim depth also is legal.
shlapp schlapp schlap schlap schlap,,aaaaahhhhhhhhh
now thats HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! vw porn!!!!!
dish is never about legality!!! keep the top edge inside the guard(so when you look from the rear its leading into it) and its enough to confuse them..the photo is the wrong angle but it looks so beefy!!!
Not a fan of it. Probably handles like turd i suspect.

Love that look, though some take it too extremely which I don't like personally.
So laws in Australia require the rim to be in line with the guard? I read in Europe it's the tyre tread, that's why we see all these tyres being stretched like there's no tomorrow.
Personally I'm aiming to achieve the look below:
Wheel stats - 17x8 ET30, 25mm spacers at the back.
Stance > trying to do the extreme!
nice also those lights on that car look HOOOTTTTT.
For me it would take ripping off the plastic flares and chopping the you know what out of the guards.
