    Exhaust systems!

Guys, as you may or may not know I started my build thread recently (check it out if you're interested!) for my VR6.

I'm currently debating which exhaust system to run and where to get it from!

I've heard good and bad things for every exhaust from Magnaflow to Remus, and I'd love some feedback as to what some of you guys are running/would run.

I'm currently thinking of using the Borla system.

Do know I'm aware of the suitcase delete and the like, not a fan.

    Cheers, James.

I had a complete custom one made by some mates out at Punchbowl - they did a top job, the car sounds tough and they weren't overly expensive (seeing as though I had to install a new cat converter too).

Best off getting a custom one made with a magnaflow/borla muffler. If you are after quietness; stick with stock cat and a 2.25" exhaust. If overall brutal sexy sound; get a 100 cell cat, magnaflow muffler in 2.5".

Avoid resonators cause they tend to make drone worse.

I have a complete remus system on mine including the suitcase which is also remus. Its pretty quiet considering under normal driving conditions but does sound tough under full throttle. I must admit though, I've been thinking about getting rid of the suitcase and going a a straight pipe through after the cats.. i love when our vr6's sound more like their big brother r32's..

But, How much roughly did it cost for a full custom job? Really keen on upgrading my exhaust, but dont really have thousands to spend. Was thinking just a suitcase delete and a better rear muffler. Really don't know much though

Sorry for using your thread jimmy!

    Exhaust systems!

Mine cost $600 with a metal cat including a 'red back' muffler.

I'd consider selling mine so I can move up to 3"

Came to roughly $600 for a high-flow cat, hotdog, resonator and sports muffler all with 2.5" piping. It's outside "loud" and there's literally no cabin noise.

Bolting it up to the VR and removing the resonator and possibly the muffler - still raspy on the 1.8L though!
