A custom job maybe? Or maybe some sort of chrome coating on the old one or something. I don't think you can just buy them, but I could well be wrong.
Hey guys,
Ive been doin some research, but Im struggling to find anything about where I could get or how I could achieve a polished or brushed metal engine cover for my vr??

Custom job for sure on the engine cover. You can have a similar look if you take the engine cover off and polish the rocker covers, but it's not as clean looking. You can also (with quite a lot of work) polish the inlet manifold on the front of the engine and it looks pretty rad. You need to really grind it down to get the sand cast texture off the aluminium and then work with finer and finer grades of wet and dry. If you go up to 4000 grade or higher, you'll get something pretty close to a mirror finish and it looks unreal, but then you need a high temperature varnish for it so that the aluminium doesn't oxidise up again.
Thanks for the help guys!! Im gonna have to go to a few places n find out what the cover pieces would be made of etc. On that note, what kinds of places would do work like this??? Im clueless with this type of custom work and where to go for it to get done as you can tell :/ ATM, Ive got the polished manifold at the front with black in between each inlet, done by the guy who owned it before but yeah I really wanna go for the look like in the pic above
