    car is still not going. it will stay where it is for the night, and i'll get a lift home tonight.

    If you haven't, take the plugs out. If it is the crank angle sensor, it may have fouled the spark plugs.

    Mate if G28 is ya code it will be your sensor. Very common. the wring loom on the sensor goes brittle and breaks in side the sheath.
    Very common.
