Should feel bags, I actually can honestly say I think they are even more comforatable then the oem suspension when you're cruising around literally an inch off the ground. Then when you want to play in the mountains they become very firm and sporty when you air them up a bit Considering the OP is considering ebay springs though I think they may be a bit of the price range
yep you are right, they get you low on the cheap ( so does getting out the grinder ) regarding handling i beg to differ, just because you are low and it feels firmer does not actually mean the car handles better...... yeah at a nice pace it does feel more planted, but when you start to push on abit things can get a bit hairy whilst your shiz is bouncin' up and down like a pogo stick.

never been in a car with bags yet ( c'mon Ray hurry up already ! ) but from what i hear its a plush ride.

OP if your still in need of some lowz when i upgrade mine you are more then welcome to have em, don't hold your breath though, cause the way things are going raising a young family and all it may be a while before i have a couple of spare gorilla's to splash out on some decent coils

I have fk streetlines in my car and I dont get any bounce and the ride whilst firm compared to stock springs is a long way from harsh. Car handles like its on rails in windy roads too. If these are crap I'd love to try some high end ones! (although I plan on getting bags next I think!) my fk's were 500 bucks from ecs

Also, did you guys with coilovers have to get a mod plate or some form of certificate from a mechanic that says they're safe to use on the road ? When i first put the coils in, i was under the impression that they were legal, probably just because im naive like that.. so thats what i told the cop when he pulled me over. I told him that i had coilovers not knowing that they were supposedly illegal.. but he had no idea what coilovers were (highway patrol as well) and every other time ive been pulled over, they've checked my ride height and all that jazz but never queried what suspension i've got.. have i just been lucky? or are coilovers legal? a lot of people have told me otherwise. and im a p plater as well so its not like they're gonna let me get away with anything

Coils are illegal in Vic, not sure about qld? Any adjustable suspension is illegal supposedly but most cops don't know what coils are. If you run at legal height they will prob never know as they rarely look at shocks, just ride height. Problem is most of us want to ride slammed which is where we run into problems!!

yeah true. I've also worried because insurance might not cover me? Not sure how it works to be honest but due to illegal this that and the other they might void my insurance? so if I could get some form of proof that they're safe if they are illegal would be great

talk to sortofbigbj about that - he wrote off his vr6 slammed on coils and I think insurance was all good.

I think they are a bit of a grey area, but technically illegal. If theyre mod plated and that they should be fine though.

Yes I did write off a car with coilovers on it and they did pay out, but they also didn't go over the car at all it would seem, as the list of things illegal on that car would have taken up pages, not to mention really obvious things that directly caused the accident such as bald tyres. I was an incredibly lucky boy. Had the insurance company actually looked over it there wouldnt have been a hope in hell of them paying out Im fairly sure. If you're worried about that I would definitely talk to them and make sure they know about them, so you are covered.
