Hey, that was my car! The day was quite hot, around 30 degrees or so. I was disappointed at not getting over 100kW at the wheels.

However, my engine is pretty young, being replaced when the previous owner smacked the sump, bent the oil pick-up and the res it history. At the time, the engine had about 80,000 km on it as opposed to the 180,000 km on the odo. Also, I was running 98 octane 10% ethanol blend, and I have a K&N panel filter.

I said to myself, I would stay out of these power loss/dyno thread's, but I've got to say, try it with an honest 30% drivetrain loss.

Work's out to be 161hp at the engine. I reckon that's not too bad at all.

I ran a very loose GTI engine with a Audi throttle body, matched ported intake & made 66atwkw's. 30% loss. 88kw's at the engine = 117hp. Spot on.
For interest sake they made 112hp stock.

I do agree with how fun the car is. Yeah corolla's are about as popular as strands of hair on my head, so it won't be as cool or fun. And, it may be a bit dissappointing having to wait for the power to surge through in the VR, but when it comes on it really comes on....so that's fun

I was just surprised to hear our supposed 128kW was at the fly! All I can say is....whoops!

Firstly be glad you don't drive a 2.slow ... Secondly those 'rollas aren't really that fast, in some cases even slower than a 2.slow as I have discovered. That goes for pretty much any other 4cyl honda that isn't a decent V-tec motor as well.

Both, not the newer ones of course 20v's included, even V-tec yo! integra GSi's have felt the wrath of the incorrectly timed 2.slow ! Although I did get utterly smashed by an 1986 EXA once, that was bad...

Those rolla's and civics are honestly slugs up until 6,000rpm, and I also discovered that fancy airbrushing doesn't contribute much to performance either
