anyone got any ideas with over heating?
car had a new thermo stat not long ago.
has had new g12 collant put in.
get to temps of 110deg and oil at 108 when driving at ~100km/h, once there it sits and is pretty stable.

had a none vdub person suggest that the thermo stat might be the wrong model or something?
anything i can try/test to start narrowing it down..

the first thing i would be looking at is do the fans kick in both your low speed and high speed

then if thats all good maybe check that the flow of water is good as in your water pump is good and no blockages in the radiator

your oil at 108 isnt a problem..... my oil temp sits between 100 and 110 degrees on the freeway, hell i even had it once at 128 degrees once just pumping along just not giving a faark

fan im not sure about... i know one kicks in when the car is turned off, but havnt noticed any running/not running while the car is on.
water pump is pretty new so id hope it wouldnt be it, but might check for any blockages when i pull it appart.
so oil isnt really a issue?
Thanks gives me somewhere to start.
Can anyone suggest a manual to buy? bentley or haynes?
wouldnt mind something with a bit of a wiring layout also...

    Thanks Dub Crazy Jarred.
    some more pics...

my dog helping out. shelf was already covered in hair and mine loses next to none so he was lucky this time round...

My bent plates that iv now returned to Vicroads... both sets of my euros turned up damaged. i didnt pay 695$ for 'bent' plates!!
Check the drivers headlight for reference in the next pic. this was half of what came out of it...

for some reason the vr6 boot had a fair old leak over the past week. i thought i was imagining it at first when i left the car in melbourne, but apparently not..
Coming from both left and right sides near the taillights somewhere but cant work out where exactly. not that it matters too much anyways.

Time to order some freshener engine parts i think!

its got a lot wrong with it. if i was going to repair it i think id pull the car to pieces and start from scratch anyways. think there is a lot of 'patching' on the vr, and i dont want to be repairing cover ups. rather get it right the first time even if it costs more
