Picked up my vr6 on the weekend. Previous owner was a forum member way back before my time i believe (car still has a VWW sticker out back ). Thanks to andrew for the sale and also fixing a minor bug or two before i picked it up.
Thanks to Josh and Stu for the lift and assistance!

So on the cars 20-30min run home we had a few problems with oil and engine temps, both going up above what they should be... also had some problems engaging 5th (dont think i made it to 5th gear on the test drive...?)
so for the gear changing problem going to bleed the clutch as it seems very 'short' atm and hope that sorts it.
for the temperatures will be looking at the thermo stat and giving the car a coolant flush.
the thermo fans only seem to run when the engine is off, so will look into that sooner then later also.

quick pic this arvo before i left it and headed back to Bairnsdale.

My thermos only kick in when you turn it off, pretty sure that's standard, my engine runs at optimum temp since I replaced the coolant tank and cap, thermostat was then replaced as well.

What were your temps doing before u did the tank and cap? Im pretty sure my tank is newish, alot of stuff has been replaced already.

body wise it is great i hate to say it, even the sunroof works!!
but a lot of money would need to be thrown at it to get it to road worthy standard/daily usage. this is pretty much the reason the owner was selling it. exhaust it pretty much gone, 1 window JUST works, no AC, no cruise, no lock in drivers door, new rotors will be needed.
these things don't really effect me.
It is a bit tired looking in person, but yes, is probably too good to be wrecking.
