Unbolt slave cylinder from the gearbox and see if you get full travel with pedal.

I know what the problem is. Feck. Must have had a complete mental blank on the weekend. The front bolt to hold down the linkages is too long and hits the slave...stops it from going to full extension. Same thing happened on Tim's 12v VR.

Will check both, but still think its something mechanical on the master cyl/pedal side rather then fluid given the fact the pedal cant be pulled up level with the brake pedal.
    either bent pedal,
    bent master cyl piston/rod.

Think ill grab a second pedal to compare in shape and design, encase it has been swapped for one from another car or has actually been bent some how. if thats not the problem then think we can point the finger at the master cylinder in which case ill get a replacement

From memory, if that clip is broken you need to get a new pedal.

I didn't notice it included with the pedals and ecs, and most places suggest it should be replaced whenever removed.
Ill have to have another look

Not sure if this occurred to anyone before but, why not print that part using a 3D printer? You'd probably need some stiff type plastic but it doesn't sound impossible.

And if we can somehow catalogue the blueprints for numerous small plastic parts that we need, we could just print them as needed, useful if the part is hard to find or nobody makes it anymore.

Present - '11 Ford Focus LW Diesel (PSA DW10C)

    Probably a good idea.
Need a good example to start off with though to trace into a program like Cad or solid works

Just noticed my battery and terminals seem to be around the wrong way.
positive is at the front/engine corner, negative is at rear/engine corner.
Lots of other VRs online are positive at rear/coolant bottle corner, negative at front/washer corner.

Anyone comment on this? need to order a new battery asap.
Thinking this battery if it makes any difference. Terminals are in the correct position for my current setup
