Hows the window issue now Dylan? Im having trouble with mine now, got one window thats not going up and drivers that doesnt want to move now
maybe a little bit soon...
my old clutch pedal on the right, spare pedal thanks to sneaky pete on the left.
both are sitting on the bench at the same angle, check the height difference at the pedal
This is what was causing both the golf and vento to have a odd pedal position, I knew all along it wasnt poorly bleed clutch as I kept getting told.
I believe because of this the 5th gear has had a serious work out from when it was in the golf and not 100% engaging has done some damage.
better condition pedal going in soon, will see what happens with the box once its in.

Goes broom. Drives smoothly!
Cheers! Need to make it pretty like yours was
Thanks!
Glad you like.
Must be all those nice induction parts. Needs more freedom out back to help it along some more.
So took it for a spin.
Brakes were a bit how ya going. Not sure if they need a bleed or just because they have been sitting for so long. I dont recall them being so bad last time i drove it.
Car started to get bit hot mid drive... which freaked me out a little as last time i drove it oil and coolant were basically on 90deg the whole time.
Pulled over to find the 30amp fuse had gone pop since i had started the car the day before. Lucky had a spare in the car. New fuse in, fans fired up and temps came rocketing back down to 94-96deg oil and 90 coolant.
Bit of a funny vibration a certain rpm. Loaded up, coasting or enginr braking. I think maybe one of the mounts has moved or is a bit loose since i installed the oem gearbox brace OR the tyres are just shagged from sitting for so long.

So Pete at volkwerke worked his magic and fixed up a couple of things.
Coolant leak from the side of the head now fixed. Had to helicoil the head and replace the housing as it had warped and pulled away.
Windows seem to be a simple break in the wiring behind the dash and no power was getting to the relay to trigger the windows via switches. A simple hotwire has fixed them for the moment, i will chase the orginal wire when i do my head unit install.
New windscreen. New wipers.
Brakes have come back to life with some use. Think the rotors were just so crusty from sitting.
Car is now road worthy. Appointment booked for rego next week.
Coilovers getting picked up this weekend. Cheap/quick exhaust is ready except for a rear muffler. Hubrings arrived for the Rays, just need to sort paint, redrill and centre caps.
New steering wheel is ready.
Chopped air box waiting to go in.
White US cluster to go in and custom making a RHD single guage holder to delete the heater seat switch blanks
New pads, mk4 calipers and brake lines are ready to go on the rear.
V5 box is waiting on cv cups and itll go in. Driveshafts will be removed and taken in for new boots all round.
Pretty keen to drive it and get started on the paint.
Lol at fuel economy chasing a wild 2 door vr on a few back roads
