    So after running the car for a few minutes, then heading over to Jarreds to borrow some stands I came back to this. Not quiet sure where it's coming from, and why it's so much compared to the tiny dribble I get on super cold days.


    I got stuck into the shifter swap.
    The mk3 one is so much more difficult to remove then the mk4. Access to one bolt was a nightmare.

    So far I've installed the o2j to the gear box and run the cables. Just to fix it to the tunnel now

    You might have made life difficult for yourself then. If you haven't modded the shifter box you'll have to pull it back out, elongate those rear holes and put longer studs into the front ones before modifying the tunnel to put it in.

    Was going to drill the holes before. But wasn't convinced I'd be doing it in the right place.
    So yeah, awkward way of doing it but hopefully get a better fit

    If you want to try and do it really well without having to modify the tunnel of the car you could drill a hole in the 02j shifter box in between the current 2 studs which you should remove and then that way would mount up in factory location. I've seen it done before. Just extra mucking around and measuring I suppose.

    Well actually... I took the shifter apart and found some more haha.

    That's the plan. I've avoided cutting tabs, drilling the two holes. Just need to trim the opening so I can access reverse.
    Dunno why they go so nuts with the cutting. Much rather cut up a removable part then the chassis.

    Cheers! No what I was originally after, but they will do the trick til I get my hands on another set from the long list of tails I want for it

    Shifter in. Feels good so far. Want to take it for a spin but need to refit the heat shields and exhaust. Also fit the new reverse sensor plug

    nice work man, easy mod then? still dubious as to just how much of a difference it makes :p will have to take a mk4 for a spin some time....
