    a little about my system

    OK

1 x Sony CDX-R3000 Your stock head jobbie - 4 x 45w inbuilt crossover with seperate adjustable frequency cutoff for the rear blah blah blah

1 x Fujitsu Ten 4 Channel Amp - running Dual Bridge Mono ( now 2 Ch ) and each channel feeding a sub.

2 x Blaupunkt 12 Inch LF 400w rms Subbies in a grey carpeted custom front loaded box that fits just lovely right behind the seats and in between the rear wheels ( the boot space left pleases the wife very much for shopping trips )

2 x Panasonic Rear 6x9 - (fed from the rear channels of the head unit with cut off at 70 htz)

1 x custom passive crossover for front MF & HF
2 x 6 inch MF response drivers in the doors
2 x 1 inch HF response tweeters in the dash
both fed from the front channels of the head unit.

It Handles all stlyes of music well and reproduces a LF rumble & kick that shakes my eyeballs when only running 3/4 volume with the windows down playing rock or techno. Im happy with the system - its seriously loud with plenty of head room. ( my wife listens to James Blunt and the LF in that even shakes eyeballs)

Dont get me wrong - Im not that little bastard that you can hear "DOOF DOOF DOOFINGn: " for about 2klms away.
I enjoy quality sound with the ability the add as much bass & high frequencies that suit the track playing and that also please me at the time -

Run your system well, dont run it so its about to catch fire like so many

Those of you who are married will understand my budget restrictions to virtually nothing - Cheap as chips for the lot -

Anyways thats my two cents worth - be gentle

Speaking of revivals, i was looking for this thread before! Im doing an upgrade my self, im ditching the 2x 12" subs, for a pair of 15" subs! I have an excuse, i need to build a sub box for tafe, so im going bigger and better! Ive just sold my 12"s and on tuesday i will order my Clarion SB15XB from work, and get on to building the box. I have measured it up, and 15" subs do fit in a golf!

    Re Stereos,

I'm a bit low on cash at the moment, and thinking of selling a fairly hot bunch of Alpine gear.

Almost their best head unit (well, not their ridiculous F#1), with the cool "Phantom Face" function - the oversized (1.5 DIN) face disappears into the dash when you turn the ignition off. MP3 compatible too, no USB though!

Also matching 4CH Alpine Amp & Alpine 12-stacker CD.

Awesome sound quality, SN etc, however I pulled it out of my old car, and am wondering if I should spend the money installing it all, or just getting a cheaper head unit.

Maybe I should stick with it, cos I do have a cabriolet. ah, the indecision!

    What do people reckon?

And note, I've already got hearing damage, so not too into Doof for sure!

Yeap thats the one, it looks better in the flesh and I never got a scratch on my old alpine HU so this one should stay pretty clean.

2x15" in a golf would be hooooge, why clarion though? There are alot of very good brands of sub around...

I'm not going for a fancy install, but i'll get some pix when its in. Have been dying without decent tunes since selling my old car and getting the VR6. Can hardly wait!
