usually on the back seats mounted, in a amp rack or custom. under the seat is the worst coz it heats up, and mounting on the sub box isnt very good either.

Passat 1.8T K04 | Audi A3 1.8T | Bora 4Motion
Bought an Alpine unit in 2000 and haven't looked back everything else is cheap in comparison.
i mount mine on the back of the sub box and have never had a problem with them.
Does anyone else run a Capacitor?
I didn't nocice any differance in volume, but notiticed an improvement in bass quality at high volumes.
What cables are people runing?
Im using a Cadance 4gauge and 2, 4 gauge earths.
I'm not running any amps in my car, actually i dont even have a radio in my car at the moment LOL. just Polk speakers in the doors (mmc6500 in the front and DB650 in the rear, and 2 MM2124 subs sitting in my garage gathering dust with a old soundstream amp to run them.)
Although that said i've never had a problem with running amps under seats as long as your not running them on the edge of their power output.
I ran all stinger 4 gauge in my last car's and if i was going to do it again in my golf i'd be using the same stuff. the cheap power cable is not worth it.
a piece of stinger 8 gauge has the same amount of copper as a 4 gauge aerpro/usaudio cable.
Caps are a bandaid fix for a poor power supply in the car. upgrade your battery and power feeds first. 9 times out of ten just upgrading earthing from the battery and the D+ from the alternator to the battery/fuse box fixes all these issues and 99% of engine noise.
I took some pics of my improved subbox for 'yall this fine evening.
sorry bout the quality.
I just need to carpet the box, or i might make a fibreglass facia and realy dress it up.
I realy need some better looking subs...........
