    Do the problems ever stop?

So, I jump in my car last night, go to a mates place, get back to another mates place where I'm house sitting at the moment, all cool...

Get back in the car to go out again, and start it, and bam...horrible grinding noise!

So, I had my ideas last night, but I just gave up, and looked at it this morn.

The starter motor spins, but the flywheel doesn't. And when the starter motor spins, you can hear **** crunching and grinding around in the flywheel area of the gearbox... So, yet again, I have to pull the starter motor out, and get my original starter motor rebuilt! My suspicion is that the starter motor shaft has broken, which would make sense...

But, I'll also have to take out the gearbox to clear out the garbage i think...

Totally over this BS, let's just hope that I don't find any bad news when I take the box out...

Thats a shame sean, at least it wasnt anything too major. You prob dont need to take the gearbox off, if there are metal pieces u can just take the lower splash cover off and put some compressed air in and blow anything out!

That sux to hear. I hope its just a busted starter motor shaft/gear, and not teeth missing off the flywheel ring gear.
Do you have much room to clutch start it where you are...Would save a towing bill.

Nah, I've driven on it briefly, and I'm not driving it anymore just incase there are any pieces of shrapnel that may hit the flywheel and shoot off through the gearbox casing, that would only make matters worse!
