Considering swapping for an s13...
Or just selling to purchase a ute to assist with my work...
Argh i need inspiration, i'm getting really bored with her and i dont know if i want to continue, although i know ill regret it if i let her go. Ah this sucks.

Yeh re-registering with coils is abit of a issue, but renewing the licence for it is perfectly fine.
If u think about it saving another $100/$200 isn't much compared to $500, especially if you don't want to compromise the ride quality.

Got some sad news everyone...
Today i got home to notice oil all over the driveway, after closer inspection its obvious my gearbox has been broken as half of it has shattered off and the rest of the housing is cracked. Im going to lodge a claim to insurance about it, but its likely from the damage that it will be written off.

Sadly, this could be the end for her...

Depressing too cause i still have loads of parts that are yet to arrive.

Don't write it off yet, there are some vr6 gearbox's floating around for less than $500, which is a lot less than any excess you would have to pay.

The cheapest ive found so far for a used was about $850. And with all the labour involved in replacing it i would probably just get someone to install it for me. Hopefully excess will only be $650, but we will just see how we go. Im gonna spend some time looking into it tomorrow.

I feel for you man, but is insurance going to cover you for damage like that? I was always under the impression that it was just there for an accident on the road. Although I've never had to make a claim so my knowledge of insurance workings isn't fantastic.

Depends on how the gearbox shattered... If it was mechanically related, I doubt the insurance company will cough up. But if you could say, prove it was due to hitting a pothole on the road then you might have a chance.
