The CPUs break and thats it. New or second hand one required.
I dont have any at the moment.
They are $550 brand new from VW.
We have instrument cluster issues on our soon to be sold Mark III VR6. Have resoldered all the circuit board and had it checked out at carsautohaus, only to be diagnosed with "new instrument cluster required". Need to get hold of another one without it costing more than the car. Does anyone have any ideas as to where we may get one? Thanks in advance. Kate

When I bought my VR from the very helpful and friendly seller, he had just found the right cluster. The clock/multi reading display panel in mine was buggered, and effectively he went around wrecker's to find clusters and didn't have any luck so he went to an auto-electrician and they made one up out of parts they knew worked from different ones!
Moral of the story - try wreckers
