    Coolant warning light keeps flashing

My coolant warning level keeps flashing when there's plenty of coolant in on the MK3 Tdi. I thought it was the level detector in the header bottle but an auto-sparky has blanked it out and established it's not the problem. He says it's a cluster issue, partly because my fuel level indicator goes up and down unpredictably, but I think the connections down by the tank might be at fault from when I had the fuel tank removed and cleaned.
    Any ideas?

Id be trying a new coolant bottle, blanking it out hasn't worked for me in the past. If it full of coolant and you fit a new bottle which is normal process or elimination you might have a dry soldered connection on the cluster but if all else fails google it, sorry it seems to be the way we fix cars these days

    thinking out loud here.
    1. bridge the sensor, if problem continues it must be back somewhere in the circuit (probably at the cluster), not the level detector.
    2. what else is on that circuit? it may be causing it - check the fuel level indicator circuit
    3. may be a faulty dash cluster, common problem.
find a bentley manual, it may help

Sensor was bridged by the auto-sparky, but I am not sure what else is on the circuit, thanks for the suggestion, I'm gonna check my Haynes and see if there is something else on there.
