i believe there is two hoses?my mechanic replaced both and they cost him $65 to get i dunno where he gets them i would assume the dealership though. sometimes dealers do have a decent price on some items.
I've found the source of my coolant leak and it seems that the lower oil cooler hose is the culprit.
Here is what I need to replace: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...t_Hose/ES2743/
Does anyone know if there is anywhere locally I can find a replacement?
Also I have gotten a replacement oil sender for the oil filter housing which seems to be the source of my oil leak.
Considering I need to fix both of these and their vicinity, can anyone advise how much work is involved to take the front bar off the car? Would this be the easiest way to access the front of the engine? I just think it's going to be a royal pain in the neck to do it any other way

If you take out the two reflectors in the bumper, next to the blinkers and undo the 4 13mm bolts behind them and the two 10mm bolts on the top of the radiator support panel, you can pull the whole front forward, leaving radiator, a/c and other bits complete. Should be enough room to get your hand in there. Be gentle with the plastic crossover pipe or you will be replacing that and the thermo housing when it disintegrates.
