Hey guys,
I have just bought a new coilpack for my golf VR6, I bought it from the US and it basically has the US spec plug, which is rounded like an oval but mine is the Euro plug and its square, they both are exactly the same, its just the connector thats different.
They both have the 5 metal prongs inside the adapters...so my question is, can i just swap the connector over from the old coilpack to the new coilpack?
I dont want to have to send my new coilpack back for a refund!
Thanks for any help
Jono.

The rounded connector one is for the 12V MkIV VR6, whereas the square connector one is for the MkIII - as far as I know (and I did a fair bit of research into this a few years ago when my coilpack crapped itself) they're otherwise identical.
I believe you may even be able to remove the controller module from the MkIV one and put the MkIII module onto it and you're up and running again.
Thats what I am thinking, its identical in its shape, size, everything. I am thinking I will take the connector off and just attach my Mk3 one...
I will PM Jimmy.
Cheers

hey guys,
I got this sorted out.. I am going to do a DIY thread for anyone who is in the same boat. Basically, all you need to do is just buy a coilpack, and if its from the US (US Spec connector) you just swap the connectors over.
