Aaron for the price that you paid they seem to be pretty good they look awesome!
A test drive I thonk I can do that for you however I wil be adding a few extra bits to the car like a strut bar, new bushes and a rear sway bar
I got my coils from German Car Performance (in Germany), got the coils + new heavy duty front rubber mounts for €555.45 (or about AU$950 landed). I also got a Neuspeed strut brace, poly bushes for the steering arms and poly mounts for the rear shock towers from Reinhaus and German Auto Parts respectively.

The finished product:
Almost two months on and all is still well. Took the car round Wakefield Park Racetrack and it was great. Driving round town has been fine although the coils had settled a little too far and I started bumping a few speed humps and scratch down on a few driveways. Still I did love the stance.
Had a couple of new tyres put on so got the coils wound up a little and driving round has been much improved although I think they wound them up a little more than I would like so I think I will split the difference and wind them down a few turns myself. (god I wish I had a hoist )
Long story short, I still need to get a drive in Steve's car with the V2's to see the difference, but for my money (and without a point of comparrison) I am damn happy with the setup I have.

I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
hawk wat size wheels you rollin and how wide are ya tyres mate
cause i just put my 16x8 donks on with out the car lowered ( you all know how high golfs sit stock so you get my drift here ) and the rear wheels still rubbed with 2 people sitting in the back when i went over a bump or when i hit the bottom of a hill mind you i was only driving normal
I'm running 16 x 6.5" (maybe 7") which are most likely the reason I don't have issues.
I have had three largish people in the car with no issues, although like I said I have wound it up a little at the moment. (gotta love that option!)
