Sounds like throw out lever is bent. They should really be replaced when you're doing a clutch. There are reinforced one's available.

Would that cause the grinding though?? The clutch on it is actually super light so I dont think the fork has a heap of pressure on it like say, a HD clutch might have. Either way appreciate the input, Peter. The box has to come off anyway so everything will be checked.

Yep, the lever gets bent into the back of the pressure plate and causes the grinding.

You're correct about the diagnosis, the only way to find out for sure is to remove the gearbox.

You might get some indication of a failed lever by removing the slave cylinder and seeing how far inside the bell housing the lever is.

I snapped my clutch fork on a normal gear change with an oem clutch kit.

Im leaving this up to the pros haha. Dont think its really something im ready to get in to and I dont really have the tools or location to do it. Current theory is clutch disintegration. My mechanic got it going and it sounds like metal on metal so fairly sure its f***ed. Gonna go a sachs kit if thats the case.
