The diff itself isn't a problem it's the install cost, been quoted anywhere from $1200-$2000 for the job and my trusted mechanic tells me he wouldn't trust anyone in Canberra to do it. This means gearbox out-ship to sydney (diff technics or someone similar)- ship back to canberra- re install= big $$$ and too long off the road as it's a daily.

There's something very wrong in Canberra then! The diff install is a couple of hour job once the gearbox is out - I've just done one!! It's only big money as there's labour time to remove and reinstall the box (far more involved in a VR than a 4cyl too)...

That's where I get all my work done Jarred, some specialist equipment is required that they don't have apparently? I did talk to Michael in Tuggeranong about it some time ago.

Maybe I should have a chat with Pete at Belconnen, he seems to be more into the modding side of things.

You need lots of special tools to swop diffs around, but you can put a cupra guts into a vr6 case for $1000-$1200. Then just bolt it into you car.

The last one of these I did is now with KIILZ in Brissie.
