    Cleaning VR6 Intake Manifolds

    Hi guys,

Anyone had experience with cleaning the intake manifold on a VR6? I just mean the exterior silver bit on the front of the engine for aesthetics, not internals... Mines quite grubby and i've seen a few that look really clean and silver and it makes the engine bay look a million bucks so if anyone has had experience, fire away! I'm sure its a good little DIY that plenty of VR owners would like to know about anyway

    Cheers,
    Max

I've done a few of them. Mine have never been 'dirty' just the rough casting marks.

Degreaser or wax and grease remover will get most the dirt off. Then get yourself a dremel with some real corse sandpaper rolls. And grind them away.

You can get to this stage with just sandpaper quite easy. Then if you want to use a metal polish you can. But they usual haze from the heat.
