    ok, is there any repercussions with removing the seam sealer? why is it there in the first place?

    I'm guessing its to hide the seam thats all I can thnik about

    And that guy must not have any if he is stressing his motor out like that with a turbo?
    I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...

    probably more to do with preventing water getting into the cracks and rusting the hell out of the car. some ppl weld everything up and grind it back as opposed to bogging it all up.

    Yep - peedman is right, it's about preventing corrosion/moisture/oxidation from getting into the seems.

    Ways around that, though.

    As mentioned many times a nice clean bay with a little smoothing will go a long way
