80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html
And it will make bugger all diference.
Exhaust and some headwork.
Or a pod filter for about the same increase as a chip will give you for that car.
IMO.

I'm not sure. What would the cost be? I figured about $400.
I'm replacing my head gasket soon as I have a small coolant weep on one side and I thought about going to 262 cams at the same time. I have a Shrick manifold on the car now with a cheapo cold air intake from a Honda.
My is a 2.5 inch custom made.![]()
Our vr6 are all the same, no OBDI or OBDII crap thats only in america. If ur replacing ur headgasket get ur head cleaned up and ported by a pro, that will get u more hp for the dollar.
can i please have your shrick???lol
I have a powerchip installed in my VR6. Supposed to be good for 20+hp.
...BUT... i can not prove this as i have never dynoed the car or even driven a standard VR6
headwork sound like a good plan. and since the head is off you might as well go all the way and bore it out to 3.0L![]()
