    Car seat dismantling...

I finally got sick of having to smell cat piss everytime I stepped into my car so I decided to take apart my seats and give them a good bloody wash. Most of it has gone well but I'm a bit stumped on a few things:

    1. How do you take the headrests out? With the rear seats, they pull out fine but the front ones just don't budge. No buttons to press on either.

    2. The fabric on the seat is stapled? Is it just my seats or is this how they're put on? Also, it looks damn complicated when it comes to recovering the seats... anyone here tried it, and might have some tips?

    3. For the back-rest section, how do you take the fabric out?? Is it just removing the tabs below (as seen in pic), and then the headrests?

I've already washed the passenger seat with Nature's Miracle (cheers Louis!) followed by lots of hot water and have partially dried now (foam taking a lot longer obviously). It works well and the seats don't smell like cat anymore.

yeah mate there is a circlip inside that slot on the palstic insert there ( you have it in the photo) you will need a hook or pick to pull it out mate. No dramas. ( circlip being my terminology actually an R clip)

Thanks Jmac! Very narrow slit though so I didn't try anything at first!

With the rear half of the seat undoo the metal tabs at the bottom by bending them straight and then curefully remove the fabric, unclipping stuff as you go.
