Also I wouldnt be too quick to blame the fella that put the outers in the disc. You would need solid proof that he has done anythingt wrong and its not hard to put them in. Not sure if he could have caused a failure there.
I had a rear bearing seize itself on a Golf once that was only 6 months old. Faulty case hardening I put it down to, I had to replace the stub axle as well.
