Can someone help with pressing in some front bearings
Hey guys,
I am stuck at the moment with the front hubs off the car, but no way to press the bearings out / in.
I was wondering if one of you guys in Melbourne could help me out. I am in Narre Warren North, but can drive into City.
Or if anyone knows a shop that is open tomorrow (Sunday), that could help me out. I have stuff to do from 9 to 2pm, but otherwise I would love to get the bearings done.
Cheers,

You don't HAVE to press them in, it is just that it is quicker.
Many years ago I replace the front wheel bearings on my Torana. Getting them out was not an issue because they were being replaced. The new ones had to be gently drifted in. It took me hours (don't know how I had the patience).
You need a small diameter pin punch and a SMALL hammer and it is then a case of very gentle tap, tap, tap as you work your way around the circumference to slowly and evenly drift the bearing in. Yes, I did mine on a weekend, and the job was pretty good seeing as the car did some 300,000 km after that when I sold it
By all means, see if you can get them pressed in, but it can be done without one.
Just about any good mechanical workshop should be able to press the bearing in; the problem being the weekend in your case.

Thanks mate,
I was lucky and found a workshop that pressed them in for me. Now I just need a wheel alignment and I am ready to go. Now the car has new front and back suspension, new bearings front and back, new timing belt and waterpump, lower ball joints and tie rods. I hope that I won't have any major repairs now for the next few years
