germanautoparts I got my replacement sump, magnetic plug and copper washers from. You'll get them cheaper than what I did too.

Can't recall if the pump was there or not, though i'd take a punt and say yes!

mine took a good 6 months of abuse, being <2 inches off the ground (alot of the time, lower then that ) but finally took one hit too many and cracked the pump and pan pretty bad :/ good time for a r32 sump/pump conversion to put it above the subframe though

my oil light would come on around hard corners/up steep hills, which made sence when i dropped the pan and took a look, i could hear a slight tick while driving with it broken but it may have been in my mind. If its making noise and you have the oil light on I definately wouldmt be driving it until you check it out...

heres a pic of my pump

Hopefully no serious damage has been done too your engine and its not too late.

Might sound silly, but has anyone ever made a bash plate for their car?

You can buy replacement metal skid plates, which I assume would work to help avoid to much damage underneath the car.
