    Unhappy Bumpers paint cracking

hey all! I bought one of the few mk3 vento's in sydney a few months ago and have only recently started to modify it (after i got my inspiration from seeing the HOT ventos during my holz in croatia and germany )

HOWEVER the black paint on the bumpers on the (front and back) are cracking and peeling, thus making the car look ****
I am now hoping to repaint them to white along with the rest of the car (as well as the side trims) how should i go about doing this? can it be done thru DIY? or should i go to a resprayer?? how much money will i be looking at here?

    Thanks!

You'll want to sand down the textured bumps on the tops of the bumpers, then put down a new coat of white.

If you've got the equipment, DIY should be fine - I recommend VG Auto Paints at Girraween for getting the right paint. If you get it done professionally, it'll cost more but I'd imagine you'd be satisfied with the finish. Steve (Mk3Vr6) is respraying his bumpers at the moment too, he'll be able to tell you how much it cost him.

Welcome to the forums by the way, and put up pictures of the Vento! You're right in that there are only a few!

thanks bro! i will go to that place 4 the paint, or if my weeks paypacket is gud enuf i'll get a couple of quotes from sum panel beaters and see who's best

this forum is pretty good! its great knowing that there are others with the same car as me out there! seeing as none of my mates have VW's!!!

heres the car as it looks now and i will post a pic after the respray!
