    BFI Mounts

Hey guys, can anyone give me some info if it is hard to fit the BFI stealth engine mounts and is it a worthwhile mod?

Not hard at all - very similar to fitting up the stock OEM mounts (will need tools to brace/lift the engine up while you change the mounts). If you check out the BFI website, there should be an instruction file (in PDF form) you can download. If you buy BFI's stealth engine mounts from dubaddiction, you'll also get the instructions with it too.

I've done exactly that about half a year ago. First time I started the car and drove it around, it really did feel firmed up. The vibrations from the engine were coming through. At first I didn't like it at all, felt very raw. 6 months into it and the vibrations are less intrusive; the mounts may have settled, or I may have gotten used to it, I can't tell, but I can live with it now and I think it helped firmed my gear selection too. I did a shifter bushing replacement at the same time, but I can easily shift into any gear (1st and 2nd used to be occasionally bothersome) and my 2nd gear crunching seldom occurs now too. My 2 cents - get them if you don't mind some harshness. If you want a comfortable daily-driving ride, I suggest just sticking with the OEM front and rear engine mounts, but upgrading the transmission mount to the G60 solid rubber mount (the one that comes with the BFI stealth kit).

I have the BFI 0.5 stage kit (purchased from Tim at DubAddiction - recommended) and its great. Didnt really notice any extra vibrations, maybe a small amount through the dash but nothing noticeable once the car gets going.
Well worth the upgrade though, will out last the OEM mounts and less engine movement.

I had the stage 1 kit installed last week in my vr. Definitely dont go for that kit if your looking for comfort. feels much better, but you can feel every virbration.

But im getting used to it. (you get used to everything eventually :p)

Yeah I was the same when I first put my stage 1 in, I was like what have I done!

But now, just under a year later, my car feels totally normal. I do get jerkiness if pushing the throttle on quickly but that's to be expected with stiffer mounts. I enjoy driving the car with them, and have recommended BFI stage 0.5's to all my mates.
