    best mods for performance on a VR6?

    hey guys i have just scored a VR6, ive been searching through old threads in VWW and google on the matter but just wanted to know what is best back for ya buck on a VR6?

    exhaust from cat back 2.25" with suitcase delete and either a modified air box with a K&N panel filter or a CAI (cold air intake).

    about the 2 cheapest things to get better performance and a grouse sound!

    Yeah 100%.

    Then if you have some more money go for a final drive to a 3.9 ratio.

    But also give it a good service, pads, oils, coolant, etc. And get yourself some good suspesion!

    awesome, thanks fellas - im thinking i want to spend around $1000 on mods... should that cover exhaust and intake?

    suspension is done already... apart from that the car is stock.

    also how many (rule of thumb) kw gain will i get from those kind of mods and a good ol fashioned tune?

    exhaust should only cost about $350 in mild steel (stainless is raspier and won't drone as much) and a panel filter can be found cheap from German Auto parts online or a CAI from a few places online (anywhere from $80-300)...

    most people say about 12hp...but the sound is amazing!

    hellz yeah im a little bit excited now.

    ive had a mk4 gti and a mk3 GL - cant wait to get this sukkah modded.

    oh whats the stuff i need to buy to make the faded grey bumpers dark again? ive tried armourall but it fades again soon after.
