    Best fuel consumption for VR6

Ok, let's hear it. Today I felt pretty proud when I reached 7.3 L/100km on my way home from Terrigal, what's every VR6 owner's best fuel consumption?

Last year i did some freeway driving in my old VR and i remember it dropping to 7.1L/100km on the computer. I also remember mine only using like 10.9L/100km when i was on a 'spirited' drive over Mt Glorious, which i was pretty surprised with.

7.1L/100km is what my polo uses now though if i spend all day on boost

hahahah terrigal... lol... I forget how much you sydney peeps treat it like some kind of glorious haven when it really isn't. i go there pretty much every weekend so if any of you are going to drop down, let me know and i'll pop up for a cruise.

i can never work out my usage coz i never fill up a full tank (i paid $1.72 for U95 at BP the other day) and I don't have one of them usage meters...

I don't know that I have seen anything as low as 7.x in my car, but then I haven't gone on any long drives for a majority of a tank. Cruising the freeway between campbelltown and the city (and round town to get there) I have seen down into the low 8's while on the freeway, although by the time you get back onto the town roads and get home it's up a bit.

THE BEST I have got off any one tank has been 8.64L/100km with my running average currently sitting on 11.58L/100km. What kills me is that I have lots of short 7 minute trips.

When you talk "spirited drive" consumption... how does 14.5L/100km sound while screaming round Wakefiled Park? I was suprised it was so low really.

Was that resetting the comp or was that for the whole journey. It's easy to claimbragging rights when you reset it and cruise at 110. My 8v would do 5l like that.

Heh that's my 10km drive in traffic to work.
I did manage a 13L/100km trip up Mt Glorious though which did surprise me. It did include the trips on the highway there and back though.

Drove from Burnie to Hobart today (that's more or less one end of the state to the other for you mainlanders), 296km and 21.5L of fuel. So that works out to be 7.26L/100km. Was mostly 85-90km/h (P plater...) on highway non-stop all the way.

Usually though i get about 9.8L/100km with driving to school and work and that's speeds of 80kmh for highway and faster on the country roads.

P.S. Fuel here is $1.72 per litre for 95RON here. How much for you mainlanders?

my worst for the past week or so was around 11.3L/100km, thats going to work and back (about 10 min drive each way)

yesterday and today driving to and from avalon airport near geelong, from melbourne ( this it was around 60-80km) got it down to 8L/100km. couldnt get it even a point lower! i think with a longer trip i could but itd have to be longer.

it takes three tanks to get to our favourite holiday spot and back in the VR at legal speeds. By contrast, my work LPG Ford needs between 5 and 6 tanks. The Mk11 does it on less than one tank at any speed.
