    Battery, for VR6

Has been covered before, but trends, brands, etc change. I want a good trade-off between cheap but decent. Ideas on batteries, and ideally places to get my mitts on one in Brisbane (or have it posted).

The best option I found was a HiTec from 'batterys now' for about $145. THey will all want to sell you the bigger DIN65 but I was too stingy and wanted to save the 30 bucks. I ended up getting a DIN55 which is apparently the minimum you can have for a VR6 with 500cca. Haven't noticed anything bad about it and starts the car super quick.

Edit: They also deliver it free of charge. They were the cheapest place I found

Cheers bud, will check them out. Yeah I don't really want to crack that $200 mark unless it's really good. A friend's got some sort of tiny aviation battery in his E30, but I think they're pricey or not suitable for a daily.

A had an Optima yellow top in my mk3. Was brilliant, could play with bags (running compressors) and crank the stereo for hours with the car off and not even come close to draining it. Expensive though, I only got it so I could relocate it to the boot as theyre safe to run inside the car

    Re: Battery, for VR6

    I had dual viair 400cs' .

I only ever managed to fully drain the battery once, after leaving something on for a couple days. A bitch to try and charge them by the way, normal battery charges won't work if they're really flat ae they have much lower resistance than standard batteries, so the chargers think they're shorting out and turn off

I used a Century battery in mine from battery world. I dont recall the cost (approx 150?) but never had a single problem with it. Cheap but decent indeed.
