    Auxillary water pump

Hi , i would like to throw this one in the ring, i have a VR6 here with a busted Aux water pump. Some may say bypass it which crossed my mind but having this is a big system with low flow im sure its not the answer. They run on after switch off to prevent boil in the cylinder head too. Any thoughts??????

My aux pump went duff last month so I just bypassed it until the new one I ordered arrived. I just let it idle for a few Min's to let it cool down after a run.
Damn they are expensive to buy though!

I replaced mine about 2 months ago, not that expensive from GAP, about $125 i think from memory. I thought it was worth doing IMO for exactly the reason you state Jmac, after run cooling.

Looks like Loon has came to the rescue guys. Yeah im glad you all agree on that. You know how it is , you look at a problem , have a think and tell yourself i might just bypass this, thats ok in most applications but with this set up i remember being on the 1st VR engine course and they were drumming into us about how the system is large with low flow. What especially was bugging me was the after run. So im gonna do it and end result will be a happy customer at the end of the day.

Doesn't it only come on with the high speed fan??

I don't know that mine has ever worked, but it's now removed and bypassed after it started to leak... I would consider replacing it, but whats a replacement worth?
