That big pipe is one piece and about $300 odd from VW parts, since you have the really all in one, mine has joins (half of which I have replaced) so you can get generic bits of pipe in very easily:
What you can do it take the pipe off and head to your local Pirtek (or similar) place and get them to make you one. Bear in mine you should be able to remove all piping going to the throttle body too. (although this means replacing the pipe at theback of the engine that runs to the heater core too).
As for Auxillary water pump, AFAIK it should only come on when needed, not everytime the car starts. Mine was dead and leaking so I removed it although I am considering getting one and putting it back, but I think my money would be better spent on an oil cooler
