Anyone know where I can get an oil cooler kit from local for the VR?

Well, after many emails sent and only one reply from the states and a $235 shipping quote I would like to know if it's possible to get an oil cooler kit for the VR6 local. Does anyone know of a place that does them?

    Cheers

Get a generic oil cooler kit locally and order a VR6 specific adapter from the states, or get one made. Why are they charging $235 for shipping, that is rediculous, USPS Express shipping wouldnt even be that much!

Alot of sales staff would rather quote an unscrupulous amount for shipping rather than to actually bother with dealing with overseas customers. I've gotten that alot...

As far as I know, all you need is the generic kit and the bit that replaces the exchanger...

Let me know if you find something that fits because after hitting 126C (on the track) it's something I am very interested in but have yet to really investigate since I haven't been back to the track since

If I recall correctly someone said something about a part from a beetle fit the VR6 engine... but then I'm not really sure anymore

Pete Jones has a beetle cooler in his mk 1 from memory. I can't remember him having any issues with oil temps being too high on the track. I'm sure he'll chim in with some sound advice (as always).

Not really needed unless ur gonna track ur car often. Doing daily driving ull never see oil temps reach that high and i think a better investment would be changing your oil more often!

I do however have one for my abf from bbm, kit fits fine except i had to cut the stock threaded union with a grinder as the original oil exchanger is thicker than the oil sandwich plate.
