Haha you're very welcom ffoff. Don't get me wrong, 17s can work when done properly (although honestly I havent seen very many that I think pull them off nicely) and 17s would mean you could keep a decent bit of groud clearance without wheel gap, but meh. 15's will be hard to pull off too bu I think I can do it
Just heard from insurance finally, car is officially written off and they will be paying out. So a bit sad but happy at the same time. They said there's nothing they can do about getting the wreck back to me, so I'm going to have to track it down, try and buy it and then bring it back home.
Seventeen shmeventeen.. If you wanna roll hard you gotta be on 15's. Haha
Sucks about the car being written off but At least if you buy it back you can make a 2 door VR or a cabby![]()
2014 Golf GTI PP - Pure White
damn! pain they wont help you out with getting it back.
you are going to get it if you find it yeah?
Dude sorry to hear about your car!!!

Im going to try and buy it back yeah, itll be sent down to brisbane and aucitioned off. Surely it would make more sence to just sell it to me up here for more then theyll likely get at auciton and save the transport of the car all the way down there, but whatever. They lady said where it will be going, although I can't find what shes talking about on the net. Will have to investigate further
Cleaned the BBS up a little today, cant believe the old owned wouldnt even attempt to clean them up a little, ohwell. They really are in pretty poor condition, im hoping they actually are all straight and such. Going to go try and buy a 12 point 8mm socket and pull some apart tonight![]()
if they look corroded - hit them with wd40 first and soak them a bit - it helps! Ask me how I know! Heat gun or the oven when you split them

Really helpful for me, one of the WFSU guys did his - the black on black is badass also!![]()
The bolts and nuts (whilst black from dust that wasnt washed off) actually are coming out pretty easy, put WD40 on the first one, didnt bother on the second and still didn't take that much effort. The only place open after I finish work around here is bunnings so I went down there seeking a 8mm 12 point socket, but not luck, so Ive just been doing them with a spanner
Have read that thread before, but it sure has some good info![]()
