Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your excellent automotive taste Car doesn't look too bad, I'd be rejuvinating the plastics first off (bumpers, flares etc.). You'd be surprised how much better the car will feel when it also looks good
Wazzup Everyone,
Firstly, I'm only new to the forum, but have been watching for a few weeks and I'm very impressed with the knowledge you guys all have.
Secondly, I'm the owner of a 1994 Mk3 Golf VR6, that is in need of a lot of help.
I love this car, it offers more speed than my previous cars (Ford XR6 and Fairmont) and I know these cars can be awesome with a little TLC (and the right parts).
I'm hoping you guys might be able to shed some light on my small list of "niggles".
There's some photos of a very raw car attached...can anyone offer help!!!

2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!
Forever blowing bubbles.
Thanks for the welcoming Pullstarter, I'm sure I'll get heaps out of this forum.
My next step is the plastics...cheap and easy, and makes a car look heaps better.
Should I sand them back or just give em a good wash then spray??
My VR6 needs some new suspension and brake discs...any suggestions from anyone??
welcome mate!
nice works on the purchase! once you spray the plastic it will look shmick as. the interior looks mint too!
suspension - hottunings coilovers (pm a user called evorobin)
brakes - brembo (i just have a personal preference)
looks like a very tidy little VR, enjoy

Wow so thats what a standard vr6 looks like
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
Welcome to VWW
In reference to your trims pieces you should give them a good clean with something like a citrus cleaner and possibly a light sand before spraying them.
I didn't sand mine and will now have to do them again and it's started to flake in a few spots GRRRRR
I'm also getting a fair bit of engine noise, has anyone else had this and if so, what the heck is it?
Kinda sounds like road noise but I've just had the tyres changed.
