Angry annoying creak in passenger door

ok, i know the mk3 golfs interior rattles a lot, but i've got this particular problem with the passenger side door. it has a VERY annoying creak which goes off over the slightest bump or corner. it sounds as if the plastic is rubbing against the metal or something.

i really want to get it fixed, its loud and very annoying. one of my mates reckons its the door latch rubbing, and to grease it up, he says he had the same problem with his car and it fixed it.

    any suggestions?

    thanks.

For a start, make sure the latch is adjusted so it is dead centre of the lock assembly. Silicone lube around the rubbers can help too
