Looks nice especially for that price.
Just don't thrash it to much and it shouldn't cause u any trouble!
Some Forever Black on those plastics will make it look trumps
Hey everybody. New to the forum and VWs. Wanted to get people's opinion on the VR6 I picked up the other day.
It's a '97, 245 000 kms, all electrics work, very little rust, no strange noises or rattles when it was running. Some scratches and rubs on it, average for a 15 year old car.
It's my first VW, looking forward to learning about them and it seems like this is a good place to learn. Hopefully the VR6 won't turn into a money pit..

Thanks man. I was thinking plastidip for the plastics but that forever black looks pretty good, might give it a shot.
PoDgE, I won't be thrashing it... too much hah. I'm in bentleigh, how about yourself? Checked out your build thread, she's looking good mate.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Finally picked up the car tonight. Had to wait for a while for the roadworthy to get done, needed a handful of parts and new tires. The dealer didn't add anything to the price so I didn't mind the wait. Just happy to have it home and sitting in my driveway. One thing is that my coolant light is flashing. The mechanic had tried fixing it by replacing the coolant reservoir and sensor but it didn't change anything. I looked around online and it seems to be a very common problem.. is this something that I should just ignore?
I'll get some new pics up on the weekend hopefully. It needs a cut and polish for sure, there's some nasty scratches on the passenger side which is a shame. Going to clean up the plastics and I think she will be looking good.
