Thanks for the kind words guys, the absolute last thing I want to do after fighting so hard for the right VR6 to fall into my hands would be thrash the crap out of it! I hope to baby this thing away and enjoy it as it is, with a minimal amount of hiccups on the way. I'm not particularly interested in speeding and hooning around (unusual for a person of my age, especially with one of these in the driveway...) because there's a time and place, and a Learner driver on the street doing speeds which he probably won't know how to control a car at is not the best idea in the world!

I've only driven the car once so far, but I quite like it and so do both my parents dad says the engine and gearbox are actually smoother in this than in his 2002 Audi A3, which is definitely something to be proud of!

AGO41T.. Soon as I get my P's in January and stop having to drive with one of my parents, I'll be out and about cruising the tits off it

    Oh, and...

    EDIT-
It's quite low, the front lip is one Nokia N95 + about 4cm off the ground, and the sump is about one Nokia N95 + 1cm off the ground.. Getting worried that I won't make it up our steep-as-shxt school driveway!

Looks great! Having a low car is quite a struggle at times.

My mk2 was 7cm at the front lip at it's lowest and got pretty frustrating at times.

New car has much more clearance, which is quite a relief, even though I want to get it lowered to kill that gap between wheel and arch.

    Enjoy it.

Your views on driving sound similar to mine buddy, I'm glad you think that way because that means this car is going to get driven nicely

I bet you your dad is gonna want it more than you did once you've got it. Make sure he knows that too, cos parents need to know what their kids miss out on sometimes!

I am rather envious of all these young kids who get to learn in vr6's!!!! I had to make do with a rather plain 1986 mazda 626

Funnilly enough, pretty sure I saw this turning off Anzac Parade onto Cleveland St near Sydney High, during the day you bought it. Did you buy it off a guy with a shaved / bald head?

Noticed at the time that the VR6 grille badge is a little skewed toward the centre VW badge. Usually they sit closer to the NS headlight.

Looked clean apart from that. The stance was noticeably low.

Make sure you get some nice plates for her - those generic black and yellows always look a little out of place on a VR6 : )

Baldy woulda been my dad, roughly what time did you see it? I noticed the VR6 badge being a bit off aswell, but I'm not too irritated about it. Sooner or later I'll have a badgeless grille on it, but with the VR6 badge back on. At the moment I don't reaaally mind it though, still feels like a fantasy just having it sit around!

And I'm already looking at plates (probably black background with silver or gold text), been toying the combination of VR-53-KS which is roughly how VR6 is pronounced in German (born and lived in Deutschland for 10 of my 16 years ), aswell as only costing an extra $90 a month.

Mate, you have no idea Dad owns a line of German bakeries here in Sydney and we get containers of baked goods shipped to us every month. I've already talked to him about sending parts over from Germany and saving on shipping costs and he sees it as a damn good idea.. TMtuning is located in Berlin which is awesome, I'll probably get one big list of parts together eventually, get the money organised and have it all sent over in one go
