    ADY/2E vs ABA

I've got the 2.0L 8V ADY engine in the GL and I know the Americans got the ABA. I'm wondering, what's the differences between the two engines? Is there a complete spec sheet for our engines that I can compare with the ABA? I'm wondering if I could use ABA parts (aftermarket) on our ADY...

Just the head and induction is different so far as I know, all the stuff in the block should be the same. Cams are interchangeable too I seem to recall.

As you said Ray ABA is a cross flow 8v sltr. Different head, inlet, ECU etc.

You could use your block and ABA pistons and head to make it an ABA engine and run it on your Digi injection system.

Or just bung in a complete ABA.

What about the Mk4 8V 2.0L (AEG)? They're crossflow too... could you swap the pistons and head on those onto an ADY?

I'm just looking into buying some performance bits and like some sort of instinct I looked towards tuning shop sites in the US. They sell bits like big valves and heavy duty valve springs to go with cams, but they're designed for the ABA... would those head hardware fit over the ADY?

Youd need to change the pistons too to allow valve clearance I reckon.

I suspect you could use a 1.6 Mk4 head, but I have never seen it done. YET.

Were you referring this to the AEG head swap or using ABA-spec hardware?

i'm not sure if you can just replace with larger valves.. (don't larger valves involve regrinding the seat..?)

i'm pretty sure most 8v hydro cams are interchangable. HD valve springs are. are you going to work your ady?

put it on a 9a head. lol

To put any crossflow head on your motor, you`d need to change the pistons I reckon.
