    ****, what a day!
With the white VR6 car fully stripped, we could finally get rid of the shell and start working on the race car shell.
We borrowed a trailer, and with the help of a few mates, managed to lift the shell onto the trailer (no wheels or subframes remember.)
The grey racecar shell was located on a farm at Narrenderra (about an hour from Wagga Wagga)
We towed the white car out to the farm, where it turned out there was no-one home, so more ****ing around trying to get onto the property.
Finally got in and unloaded the car. Next came the struggle of trying to get the new shell onto the trailer with less people and more weight (This shell still had doors and subframes, so roughly 2-300kg heavier.)
Ended up using a tractor to assist us in getting it on the trailer.
Towed the car home, where we unloaded it.
Was a very long day as nothing seemed to be going to plan (as per usual)
    Some pictures:

Yep as simon said, What a **** of a day! but at least the Grey vr6 is back in wagga and the work will begin hopefully tomorrow depending on when i finish work but ill hopefully get abit more of it stripped and more parts sorted out as the grey car is currently full of parts and does require abit of sorting out.

As we said our plan/goal is to get this to nats no matter what stage we are up to with it, but we are hoping to have it stripped with race seats in it and driving

all the parts are on their way to get this happening so hopefully it will all come together in the next 6-8 weeks so we can be at nats in it! (obviously not registered, trailer up trailer back)

Hayden it's just a stage 1 build at this stage just to get some experience and tbh I think it's going to take quite some time to be able to even drive the 12v to it's full potential even with a stock motor.
We are doing this relatively cheaply so we are at this stage avoiding 24v because we don't want to buy standalone management at this stage. I'm sure one day it will happen because obviously 24v is the better/newer/smarter option.

Although a little less weight over the front wheels would be nice.. 20vt or something..

But as I said for now it's just build with what we've got trying to do this on a budget!

    ^ this.
If we want to go massive power, 1.8t will probably be the option, unless we can't stand getting rid of the sound of vr6.
Even then, we would probably go R32 or R36 if we were going to the trouble of standalone.

We don't have the parts either lol. I sold my 24v.

If you had a look on clubgti, I'm pretty sure that someone weighed a 20VT and a VR6 engine (complete, intercoolers, etc etc) and they were roughly the same weight (very minimal difference). The big difference/benefit of the 4cyl was that the centre of gravity of the was further back (behind the struts) where as the VR COG was futher forward of the strut towers. This obviously then affects the way the cars handles etc. (Alot of UK blokes are doing mk 2 track cars with 20VT/VR's, which is where I gleened this info from)
